Trace away back about 19 or 20 years, to a simpler time when eating McDonald's food was socially acceptable. Before the urban-marketed ad campaigns and anti-obesity propaganda films, there was a golden moment where upon America's #1 fast food chain had a singing crescent moon as a spokesman, as well as Happy Meal toys actually worth collecting. At some point in the late 1980's, McDonald's released a line of LEGO happy meal toys, believe it or not. When I was about five years old, my mother was the fortunate swing-shift manager of the McDonald's on Columbia ave. in Lancaster, thus I was able to have as many of those toys as often as I wanted (in addition to free food)!

Ergo, I owned multiple sets of the small LEGO toys included with a kids' meal. To celebrate the glory days of fast food, I have constructed here exact replicas of all eight models offered at the time, some of which contain 100% original pieces actually used from my old McDonald's sets! Other pieces are modern versions of the ones that would have been included in the parts list. All vehicles are reconstructed verbatim (if not exact, damn close) to their past counterparts.

So as you can clearly witness by the severe dirtiness/scratchiness and yellowing of certain pieces, some of these parts are in fact 1989 originals.

I still remember that day in 1989 my ma came in our house with a large box filled with unopened packages of these sets, as they were left over from the first run of the Happy Meal promotion. In all seriousness, I had an adrenaline surge at the sight of so many sacks of LEGO's, that I tore open the baggies violently as if the plastic bricks were necessary for survival. I recall ripping open a particular bag so fast and wildly that the parts flew up to the ceiling and got stuck in an overhead light.
