Various references to "The Baron" Julius A. von Brunk in the news, other websites, or assorted articles!

February 8th 2012 - Exciting news regarding my Transfomers/Nintendo/LEGO crossover!

Upon being reblogged and reblogged relentlessly across Tumblr, my Zapper called "Plasmashock" has generated quite a buzz amongst the geek community, notably being linked to some cool blogs!

The folks at Kotaku think it's a true super smash it!

"New York LEGO builder Baron von Brunk has done something I'm surprised it's taken decades for someone to do: take Transformers villain Megatron as inspiration and build a transforming NES Zapper.

Christening his Nintendo-themed Transformer Plasmashock, von Brunk provides instructions on how the robot was created and how it transforms, before pledging to do a similar project involving an actual NES, which "transforms into a giant robot, much akin to Metroplex and/or Fortress Maximus!"

Yes. Please."

Next we have Technabob.com's insight!

"Remember that old Megatron Transformer that turns into a gun? Well, LEGO builder Baron von Brunk from New York has outdone that one. His version of the toy has the Decepticon leader Megatron turning into something much more geeky – an NES Zapper gun. He calls his Transformer Plasmashock. The man has a way with names. Much better than “Crappy gun used only for Duck Hunt.” His next project should be even neater. He plans to do a similar project involving an actual NES, that would “transforms into a giant robot, much akin to Metroplex and/or Fortress Maximus!” Sounds pretty awesome. Why doesn't LEGO sell more stuff like this themselves? Oh well, their loss."

And amidst others, my Zapper robot has been published internationally -- in Spanish, French, German, and now Dutch! Man, wait 'til you folks see the transforming GameBoy I'm building next! The heroic Nintendobots will have an all-out war against the evil forces of the Segacons.

November 21st 2011 - One of the products that I helped developed is in stores, and now a positive video review has been made by some random customer! Please note: I didn't create this car-shaped mouse from scratch; it's an existing product from overseas that we're branding under our label -- BUT, I created the package art, blurbs, name, logo, colors and such 100% myself. That being said, we used these currently existing products to get our foot in the door of major chains (Big Lots, Home Goods, Best Buy), so that we can in fact begin selling products I specially created myself (i.e. actual Baron von Brunk inventions)!! Soon you'll see some 100% original ideas conceptualized and prototyped by yours truly -- and I promise to make one helluva big site update about the forthcoming arrival of my grand inventions!

July 2011 - In an article by Nathaniel Page, I'm greatly discussed in regards to a meetup I attended with a few cohorts! Of course, my trademark tie, sideburns and tattoos get a decent mention:

". . . and a guy with mutton-chop sideburns who called himself The Baron Von Brunk.

The Baron wore an American-flag tie. On his business card, which he also gave me, he was depicted wearing said tie. He was the chief executive officer of "Reel Splatter Productions," a film company, whose logo was a man in a gas mask chopping open someone's head with a machete. He said that he could reverse the the color scheme of this logo to transform the film company from one based on horror films to one based on zombie films. . .

. . . We spent much of the meal talking about tattoos. The Baron Von Brunk had tattoo of a Lego man on his arm. He had long been a Lego aficionado, and still built models, elaborate ones depicting such scenes as General Sherman's burning of Atlanta. . ."
